During high school, I was a hesitant writer, grappling with insecurity and self-doubt. I remember the countless drafts with lots of red ink and the constant questioning of my abilities. Yet, I knew deep down that my potential was far greater than I allowed myself to believe. This realization sparked a journey of transformation, shaping not just my career but part of my very identity. You know what they say, “Even the tallest oak tree was once a nut who held its ground.”

Every project I undertake, I do so with dedication and meticulous attention to detail. Whether it’s crafting a report or leading a team meeting, I approach each task with the same level of commitment. This drive for excellence has been a cornerstone of my professional philosophy, compelling me to continuously challenge myself and improve. It’s a mindset that has served me well throughout my career. I guess you could say I’m a bit of a perfectionist – if something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right (or at least with a strong cup of coffee in hand).

As I began to embrace my capabilities, I sought opportunities to lead. Rising to the role of president in Public Relations Students Society of America (PRSSA) was a significant milestone. This position demanded leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment. It taught me the importance of decision-making, strategic planning, and the value of fostering a collaborative team environment.

Simultaneously, my passion for writing never waned. I took on the mantle of editor-in-chief for Ex Umbra, NCCU’s Creative Writing publication, a role that honed my editorial skills and deepened my appreciation for the power of words. This position was more than a title; it was a testament to my growth from a hesitant writer to a confident communicator, capable of steering narratives and influencing thought. It was in this role that I truly found my voice (and also learned the importance of spellcheck!).

This is me during my internship at Duke University, where I developed skills in camera work with a stabilizer. While there, I improved my writing skills and gained proficiency in photography, videography, and editing (for both mediums)!

Academically, I pushed myself beyond the ordinary. Graduating cum laude and making the Dean’s List were not mere accolades but milestones that reflected my hard work, discipline, and intellectual curiosity. These achievements were a source of immense pride, underscoring my dedication to excellence in every endeavor. They were the tangible results of countless hours of study and a commitment to learning. Let’s just say those years as a barista came in handy with my caffeine consumption.

My journey was not without its challenges. There were moments of doubt and obstacles that seemed insurmountable. However, each challenge was a learning opportunity, a chance to grow and refine my skills. The support of mentors, peers, and family played a crucial role in my development, providing guidance and encouragement when I needed it most. After all, they say it takes a village, or at least a very patient group chat.

Today, I am proud to say that I work at my top-choice company in the B2B sector. This role is not just a job; it is the culmination of years of hard work, self-improvement, and unwavering determination. A place where I can truly make a difference, and finally put all those late-night article writing sessions to good use.

In my current position, I continue to challenge myself, seeking out new projects and opportunities for growth from my peers here at PAN. Each day brings new learning experiences and the chance to further develop my skills. The dynamic nature of the B2B sector keeps me engaged and motivated, pushing me to stay ahead of industry trends and best practices. Plus, who doesn’t love a good business acronym?

My experiences have taught me that with dedication, hard work, and a willingness to embrace challenges, anything is possible. As I look to the future, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and committed to continuing my journey of personal and professional growth. Here’s to the next chapter and hopefully, fewer typos along the way. 😌
